This most enchanting trek leads into one of the numerous side valleys in the Kullu – Manali area, and going through spectacular landscape which ends in the Lahaul valley. It is considered one of the most beautiful treks around Manali and can be done by anyone reasonably fit. The countryside is liberally endowed with forests of Walnut & Cedar, while a few flower-strewn meadows enhance the trail.

Commening our trek from Manali, the trail goes over Hamta pass past small villages at Purni & Sethan. The Panorama as viewed from the top of the pass is enthralling and inspiring, especially appearance of Inderasan and Deo Tibba Peak. From the pass we descends down to Chatru and walk along the right bank of Chandra river to Batal from where we walk along the river opposite to Bara Shigri glacier. On approach to Chandertal – considered to be source of Chandera River, the magnificent views of glacier & peaks of Mulkila & C.B. ranges can be seen. Crossing over Baralacha pass (4883 m) and further descending along Bhaga River, we arrive at Darcha and take our prearranged transport to Manali.
