This is an ambitious exploratory trek, which traverses over glaciated Kangla pass into the Zanskar valley.
This trip starts out with a spectacular drive into semi and Lahaul valley over Rohtang Pass. Trekking up along the Mayar Nallah which line our route through what is probably the most beautiful alpine valley in Himachal Pradesh, we reach Khanjar, a last village of the valley where the valley broadens with varieties of wild flowers and meadows. After spending full day acclimatization at Palphu we walk for 3 day over glacier where crevasses have to be crossed and camp near the confluence of two streams on the other side of the Kalinga Pass.
There is the startling change in the landscape, as we enter the Zanskar valley. In this remote valley of Zanskar, we visit number of ancient monasteries, notably at Purni called Phuktal Gompa, which are built on to the sheer face of the rock. From here we trek into the Lahaul valley over Phistela pass and concludes our trek at Keylong Sarai. Driving out of the Lahaul valley, we spend a day sight-seeing in the attractive Kullu down of Manali, before returning to Delhi.
